Dr Nicole Samuel
Nicole leverages her medical training, front-line clinical experience and expertise in leading performance improvement and complex service redesign to enable clinically-led strategic change. Her main interests include healthcare strategy, navigating the challenges and opportunities of digitally enabled health and care, and the implementation of innovative models for clinical care.
She is passionate about healthcare innovation and the development of safe, equitable, and high-performing healthcare systems in which mental and physical health are valued and services are designed around what users need. By virtue of her broad experience in business case development and strategic projects across clinical and academic spheres, she embodies a highly collaborative approach bringing together multi-disciplinary teams and health and care systems to driving sustainable and meaningful positive transformation in public services.
Nicole’s recent work – designing and implementing transformative new health and care models:
- Building the business case for a £600m hospital redevelopment, supported by an integrated programme of clinical and digital transformation to improve access and quality of care for 1.5million people
- Bringing together 24 health and care organisations to develop their maternity clinical strategy, integrating mental and physical health for mothers and babies across a region
- Developing the clinical model and pathways for an international collaboration, spreading the learnings and best practice from the NHS to international partners
- Redesigning outpatient pathways post-COVID – implementing virtual care models that helped patients be seen safely, quickly and closer to home
