
Dr Kathy McLean
Strategic Advisor
Kathy McLean is a strategic adviser to The PSC. She is chair of an NHS Foundation Trust, a non-executive director at two NHS Trusts, and Independent Chair of an Integrated Care Board and Integrated Care Partnership. Kathy’s work has focused on improving quality by supporting clinical and wider leadership in local regional and national roles. Having been closely involved in the shaping of the NHS in England over the last 15 years, Kathy provides a strategic view and brings a wealth of experience to the development of integrated health and care systems.
Earlier Career
Prior to becoming a non-executive, Kathy was executive medical director and chief operating officer at NHS Improvement, the organisation responsible for providing leadership and support to NHS trusts and foundation trusts. Before that, she was the Clinical Transitions Director working with Professor Sir Bruce Keogh building the NHS Commissioning Board, now NHS England. Previously Kathy was a physician and NHS trust and regional medical director.
